A WORD FROM OUR PATRONS'
"It's our pleasure to welcome you to the ‘Oxford Music and Folk’ website! We were thrilled (and more than a little honoured!) when Geoff asked Ninebarrow to be joint patrons of this exciting new musical venture for a great many reasons. Firstly, Oxford has become a real home-away-from-home for Ninebarrow over the last few years. We’ve enjoyed some of our very favourite concerts in the county and have found an incredibly warm welcome whenever we’ve passed through on tour. Secondly, Geoff is renowned in Oxfordshire for giving a platform to some of the very best folk, roots and acoustic music in the UK, so to be a part of a fresh drive to bring the best of the UK music scene to the heart of Oxford is incredibly exciting. Thirdly, we were absolutely blown away by the venue itself: the Holywell Music Room is stunning: a live concert venue since 1748, it has magnificent acoustics and an intangible, magical quality to the space. So, when you take a city as vibrant as Oxford, a concert programme of world class folk and roots music, and a venue the calibre of the Holywell Music Room, you really have got a recipe for something rather special – and we can’t wait for you to experience it!"

I am honoured, not only to be a patron artist of Oxford Music and Folk, but also to have launched a new album in that very special venue in May 2018. It was a magical night, for the space, the acoustic, the lovely audience and for the care and attention Geoff Smith gives to every night he puts on there and to every artist he hosts both here and in the lovely Quaker Meeting House. I wholeheartedly support Geoff’s venture and would encourage music lovers from far and wide to check out the great 2019 event list and come and see for yourself.
